Travel Lock terms

Last updated 8 September 2026

Travel Lock is a real booking, not a price hold: N8Go reserves and pays for the flight or hotel you choose, holds it, and you pay it off on a fixed schedule shown to you before you start. This page sets out exactly how that works.

Draft: pending legal review

This page has not yet been reviewed by a solicitor. It is published so the mechanics are documented plainly for customers and support, not as a final, tested legal position.

1. What you pay today, and what's non-refundable

When you lock a price, you pay a deposit plus the Travel Lock fee immediately. Both are shown as amounts, in your own currency, before you confirm, never estimated afterwards, and both are non-refundable once paid, including if your plan is later cancelled for a missed payment (see clause 4).

2. The payment schedule

Your full schedule, every date and every amount, is shown to you and agreed before you pay the deposit. It is split into 3 payments for a fare under £400.00, or 4 for £400.00 and above, finishing before your travel date. We do not change a schedule once it's set, except where clause 4 (missed payment) or clause 6 (N8Go's own cancellation) applies.

3. Future payments are taken automatically

By paying the deposit, you authorise us to charge each later installment automatically, on its due date, to the same card. We'll email you 2 days and 1 day before each charge. If your card changes, update it in your account before the next payment is due.

4. If a payment is missed

A missed payment gets one automatic retry after a short grace period. If that also fails, your plan is reviewed by a member of our team (not cancelled automatically), who may give you more time or cancel the plan.

If the plan is cancelled this way, everything paid is forfeited: the deposit, the Travel Lock fee, and any installments already collected. We will attempt to recover what we can from the supplier, but that recovery (if any) belongs to N8Go, not to you, since it offsets a real cost we've already incurred on your behalf.

5. If a shortfall remains

Where cancelling a plan under clause 4 leaves N8Go with a loss beyond what's forfeited and recovered, we do not currently pursue you for the difference as a debt. We reserve the right to review this position for a plan involving an unusually large shortfall or a pattern of repeated defaults on the same account.

6. N8Go may also cancel your plan

We may cancel a Travel Lock plan at our own discretion, at any stage, for a reason we judge sufficient: for example a supplier price error, a booking that can no longer be fulfilled, or a suspected fraud concern. We will always tell you why. If we cancel your plan this way, you receive a full refund of everything you've paid back to your original payment method: the deposit, the Travel Lock fee, and any installments already collected.

7. We hold the booking until it's paid off

Once your details are confirmed, we book and pay for the real flight or hotel ourselves and hold it. You have no right to travel, check in, or otherwise use the booking until your final installment has cleared and we've released it to you.

8. Confirming your details

After your deposit clears, we email you to confirm the traveller or guest details on your plan before we book anything. You need to respond within the deadline stated in that email. If you don't, your plan is treated exactly like a missed payment under clause 4.

9. Eligibility

A Travel Lock plan is only available where:

  • the hotel rate is fully refundable, or the flight fare carries real refund or Cancel For Any Reason cover;
  • your trip is far enough away: at least 30 days for a 3-payment plan, or 45 days for a 4-payment plan;
  • you're within your account's plan and outstanding-balance limits; and
  • your account isn't currently restricted following an earlier missed payment (see clause 10).

These apply the same way to every account, regardless of membership tier.

10. A missed payment may restrict future plans

A first Travel Lock plan cancelled under clause 4 restricts new plans on your account for 12 months. A second restricts new plans until we've reviewed your account directly. Neither applies to a plan we cancel ourselves under clause 6, which is never your fault.

11. No price-protection guarantee

Travel Lock does not protect you against a price rise, and does not cap what you owe if a supplier's price changes: the price shown when you lock is the real, final price of the booking we make on your behalf.

12. Your right to cancel

We are reviewing how the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 cooling-off period applies to a dated travel booking like this one. Until that's confirmed, please contact us before paying if you have any doubt about proceeding. Nothing in this page affects your other statutory rights.

13. Governing law

This page is governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, save that if you are resident elsewhere in the UK you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction. See also our Terms of Service and booking terms, which apply alongside this page.
